Simon won widespread acclaim when he created the role of Chris in the Original London West End production Miss Saigon at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

Born in Cardiff South Wales and trained at the Mountview Theatre School London, after playing such diverse roles as John Proctor in The Crucible, Mark Anthony in Julius Caesar, from Chekhov, Shaw, Ibsen and through to a variety of modern plays Simon graduated with an acting diploma.

Theatre.He landed his first major role with The London Players Theatre Company followed by the Narrator in Paddington Bears national tour, Sir Tim Rice and Stephen Oliver’s Blondel at The Old Vic and Aldwych Theatre London and the role of Eddie in Mack & Mabel also at the Aldwych. He then landed the part of Young Elvis with Martin Shaw (Old Elvis) in the Original London West End production of Alan Bleasdale`s award winning play Are You Lonesome Tonight? at the Phoenix Theatre to critical acclaim. Simon then starred as Marius in Sir Cameron Mackingtosh/RSC`s production of Les Miserable’s with the original cast at The Palace Theatre London then moving on to play Vernon Gersh in They’re Playing Our Song at the Olympia Theatre Dublin. This was followed by the role of Kangaroo in the show JUST SO directed by Julie Mackenzie at the Watermill Theatre Newbury and then Poetry in Motion with Jeremy Irons at the Richmond Theatre.

Following the huge success of Miss Saigon, Simon was asked to play the role of Raoul and then the Phantom in Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom Of The Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre London having had the pleasure of being flown to New York to be directed by Hal Prince with the Broadway cast. He then returned to Les Miserable’s this time to star as Jean Valjean. Simon then starred as Che in Evita at the Douglas Theatre Isle of Man and workshop productions playing Greg Reed in Club Tropicana , Norman in ‘Sex Chips and Rock n Roll’ for The Manchester Royal Exchange by Debbie Horsfield and Rhet Butler in Gone With The Wind for Trevor Nunn.

Television. Simon has appeared in many TV shows throughout his career, including many Royal Variety Performances, Kenny Everett show, Marti Caine (ITV) Standard awards, Olivier awards, B.A.F.T.A. Awards, That’s Show Business, The Music Game, The Heat Is On, The Great Event, What’s my line, Night of a hundred stars, Sink or swim , Guinness hall of fame, Chris Stewart show, The lyrics game, Wednesday at eight, Wogan, Open house,Doctors and appearances in Spain, Germany , Czechoslovakia, Iceland, Kuala Lumpur, Holland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, France, USA and Australia.

Simon completed the new UK national tour show of This Is Elvis in 2006 playing the title role to rave reviews. In 2007 he recorded the soundtrack of a new film” The Understudy", then performed in Seoul south Korea heading A Musical Gala concert then performed in Mumbai India representing London’s West End Heritage for Ken Livingston the Lord mayor of London. In 2008 Simon filmed Doctors for the BBC playing Brian Rossington the dentist and then completed a Scandinavian tour The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber which guessed Elaine Paige.

Simon began 2009 with a concert in Spain(coruna) The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber a BBC radio 2 concert Best of the Musicals  then  in March performed at Carnegie Hall New York followed by Sydney Opera House Australia and recently performances in Washington DC , llangollen festival and The london Albert Hall  this November.

 

Simon is currently playing the lead role of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables at the Queens theatre London till  june 2011
